Neyland Cricket Club has been identified by the England and Wales Cricket Board as a 'focus club', one
'that has been identified for a clear strategic reason, and one that is committed to long-term junior
development.' We feel this recognises our strong junior section and our commitment to further improve,
affording young people the best possible opportunity to learn the game of cricket.
In 2007 we became only the third accredited club in Pembrokeshire.
Accredited status recognises the
achievements of the club in coaching and junior development but also in implimenting policies and
procedures to protect the welfare of its members. All junior coaching at the club has been assesed
and has met a stringent minimum standard. All the club coaches are qualified, CRB checked
and have the relevant insurance.
The policies and safeguards put in place at the club to ensure the welfare of members and in
particular junior members have been reviewed and fully endorsed by the ECB, crickets governing body.
Another part of the accreditation process involves the formulation of a Club Development Plan. This plan is aimed
at focussing and recognising the clubs short and long term aims with regards development and allows for
us to undertake a constructive and ongoing development process. It is the intention that this plan be
made available here to all members, once it has been finalised, on the 31st September annually. While no acurate
costings etc will be available online the development plan will set out the views and aspirations of the club
for the coming year as well as providing an insight into the clubs long-term (5 year) plan.
